Commissioning People to Their Work Outside of Church
Labor Day is a time when some congregations lift up the importance of work. In recent years, Michael Kruse's denomination has invited seminarians to develop resource materials that congregations might use with this event. This year they are doing something a little different.
As part of that effort, Michael offers a short essay distinguishing human vocation from Christian vocation. Then, he includes the complete draft of a liturgy churches can use for commissioning people to the work they do in daily life.
Take a look, give Michael some feedback on his ideas, and then share his sample liturgy with your church leadership as a possibility for encouraging the people in your congregation!
