Sunday, Sunday
Transcript
Bob was a quite a Christian. Sundays anyway. On Sundays, Bob led the junior high class. He was a deacon. People admired his zeal. Yes sir, come Sundays, the church could count on Bob.
Come Monday, Bob’s office could count on him for something less than Christian behavior. Aggression can be good, but Bob turned it into selfishness. Focus is good, but Bob’s single-mindedness was rude. And in getting ahead, he was willing to see others held back.
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. In Second Corinthians, Paul reminds us to do right "not only in the eyes of the Lord, but in the eyes of men." Who are you on Sundays—and every day . . . in the high calling of our daily work?
For we are taking pains to do what is right,
not only in the eyes of the Lord
but also in the eyes of men.
