How Should Christians Engage with Culture? - Leigh McLeroy
Recently, The High Calling had the opportunity to speak about leadership and inspiration with author and consultant Leigh McLeroy.
Transcript: I think Christians interact and influence the broader culture the same way Jesus did. We live in our world. We don't hide from it; we don't shut ourselves away from it. We enter it with faith, with confidence, and with love. We meet our neighbors. We love our children. We care about our colleagues and our co-workers.
Every time I start a project I'm almost always as excited about the people that I've met and the people that I'll come to know than I am about the actual work that I'll do. They both jazz me; I love them both. I love the work, but I'm always excited that I'm entering into a relationship, even if it's just for a short period of time, where I'm going to know someone and be known by someone and the possibilities that that holds.
So, I think we engage our culture by going about our lives and doing our work, but doing it with love and with purpose.
